Macquarie University, in collaboration with their government and community partners, embarked on the Power of Public Spaces project to explore innovative solutions for the design, management, and use of public spaces in Australia. This groundbreaking initiative aimed to understand and enhance the role of public spaces in fostering social connectivity amidst contemporary challenges. To ensure the project's diverse research findings reached a broad audience in an engaging and accessible manner, Macquarie University turned to Creative Freedom, trusting our deep sector experience and strategic digital expertise to bring a first-of-its-kind project to life.
The Solution
We provided a full-service solution to Macquarie University, from project naming, through branding to site design and build. The final product was a brand identity grounded in natural environments, a user-friendly, multimedia-rich platform built around story-telling and research discovery and an engagement strategy to drive participation through events. By combining expert web design with diverse multimedia content, we created an engaging site that not only captures the voices and stories related to public spaces but also serves as a robust teaching resource. This innovative website celebrates everyday public spaces and the communities that thrive within them.
