Web Developer

We’re looking for a passionate web developer to join our growing team of creatives working with nonprofits on digital projects for social impact.

With commitment to quality code, strong teamwork ethic, an emerging understanding of both classic and modern web traditions, and a curiosity-driven approach to learning, you’ll work alongside and be supported by like-minded devs to develop digital solutions across established and emerging web technologies. The position is available on a part-time or full-time basis with a FTE salary range of $60,000 – $75,000 (+ super). Currently taking Australia-wide expressions of interest, with the final role shaped around the most suitable candidate.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

Custom Theme Development

Building best-practise WordPress and Raisely themes from the ground up, with fluency in HTML, SCSS, PHP and Javascript.

Plugin Development

Implementing bespoke site interactivity and functionality with attention to accessibility standards through custom WordPress plugins or components built on React, Vue or Svelte.

Working with Frameworks

Apply your knowledge of CSS precompilers (e.g. sass, stylus) and UI frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap, Tailwind, Material) to our custom digital projects.

Managing Source Control

Managing code bases through Github, with familiarity across compilers (gulp, webpack, parcel) and package managers (NPM, Yarn).

Testing and Debugging

Proficient in debugging – investigate, triage, and report on application bugs and performance issues – while applying quality assurance testing throughout.


Working effectively with the team to determine best solutions that help our clients achieve the outcomes of their projects.

Design Implementation

Building out our Figma designs through custom HTML/CSS/JS code, the WordPress block editor and the Raisely design editor, with a good understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards.

Content Population

Implementing client-provided copy decks into our platforms that conform to SEO principles, practise the effective use of our platforms, including optimisations that aid responsiveness and site performance.

Platform Maintenance

Working with our existing clients to manage ad-hoc requests on their websites, including updating plugins, debugging site issues, building new functionality and performing site audits.
